How Does Role Strain and Role Conflict Operate in your Life ?

To better understand how role strain and role conflict operates in my life we have to go over what exactly are the role strains and roles conflicts in my life. I currently have many roles in may life. I am a family member (son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson) which requires me to do some things I wouldn’t usually do for just any person such as helping out around the house with chores, picking up my sisters from school, and doing special events such as celebrating a birthday or achievement. I’m also a teammate , and I’ve been one for almost 14 years of my life in the great sport of futbol (soccer) and I’m currently playing in San Joaquin Delta College Men’s Soccer program. This role requires me to attend practices during the week, workout outside of practice on my own time, to eat a certain diet, and to study past games on film. Finally and most importantly I’m a student. I’m currently in my second semester of my first year at Delta and as a student it requires me to attend classes, do homework , projects, and studying to be successful as a student. These roles can obviously be draining, but it’s manageable and it’s part of being a student athlete. It does irritate me because I would like to do other things such as working for example but there’s just not enough hours in the day because of school, my sport, and my family and friends. These role strains and conflicts can be stressful for anyone but I believe it’s crucial to have them because one would have less connections and interactions with people. In each of these roles I play I have different people that I interact with, learn with, laugh with, and just enjoy with. I feel like without these other roles we would be completely different and probably plain boring ordinary people.
